BlackJack
Before Blackjack there was a game called Twenty-One. No one knows the origin of Twenty-One. The first mention of this game was in the Spanish book Miguel de Cervantes written by the author of Don Quixote. The object of Twenty-One was to reach 21 points without going over. The Ace was valued at 1 or 11 and was played without tens. This book was published in 1601 and 1602, which means the game was played in Spain since the beginning of the 17th century at least and possibly earlier. Later, the game was mentioned in France and soon found its way to the United States.
